As we live in Vietnam, we have to face up to some important realities.  We cannot and will not do this by ourselves.  Alone, we will quickly fail.  We take comfort, therefore, in the words of Jesus, “surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matt. 28:20).  We rely primarily on the grace of God in Jesus Christ to give us strength.

But the Bible also comforts us in Hebrews 12:1, “since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”  Our work in Vietnam is not accomplished in isolation, but in community. Thus, we also rely on the community of friends, family, and others who are our cloud of witnesses.  Werely on them for encouragement, financial support, and above all, prayer.  With this communion of saints behind us, rooted in the love of God in Christ Jesus, we know that we can impact the people of Vietnam effectively to His glory.
